Dear School owner, parents, and competitors,

Wow!  what a summer.  I don't know about you, but our garden was unbelievable this year.  so much time has been dedicated to harvesting the abundant vegetables.  As with martial arts, if it's worth doing, do it the best you possibly can.

With the weather finally turning a little cooler, naturally it's time to start thinking about tournament season.  Kicking off this year's events is our annual Kidament on December 8th, 2018.  This kid only event was created to introduce students to the excitement of competition while remaining a safe and educational forum that builds lasting friendships with other martial artists.

We are fortunate to host this event at People's Academy High School in Morrisville, VT.  Plenty of parking is available.  Registration begins at 9am with competition starting at 10am.

This tournament is perfect for beginners all the way through seasoned competitors ages 3-15.

Each division will be playing organized games of flag grab, gladiator, and more fun!

We are pleased to announce that we have several after school programs lined up beginning in October. This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to be able to participate in the martial arts and receive all the benefits it offers.  Check with your kids school to see if it is participating.  If not, let us know and we'll see if we can organize it.

Last week, Grand Master Rick Dunlavey and Master Hellen Dunlavey, participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.  This cause is very dear to their hearts as they have had a family member pass away from this cruel disease.  So, check out the video and remember to be active in causes you believe in.

A few weeks ago, the local organizer of Habitat for Humanity contacted us about volunteering at a job site.

This weekend, a team of students from Dunlavey's Black Belt Academy, will gather to work on the home for a local family.  We believe in community involvement whenever possible, and this type of project ties nicely into our philosophy, "Building a stronger community, one family at a time".

We are proud that our students hold this value close to their hearts.  Stay tuned for updates and pictures!
